Camas High School Science Olympiad is comprised of about 4 teams and 50 students each year. We have a consistent history of success at the Regional, State, and National levels, winning the Washington State Championship 7 out of the last 9 years and placing 11th at the National Tournament in 2018.
We are proud to have multiple teams at various levels of competition. Our Varsity Team equivalent (Black Team) travels to Invitationals around the country throughout the season, and hopefully will represent Camas High School at the National Tournament each year. This being the case, there are also teams for those whose focus is to compete at the national level and teams for those who simply want to have fun while exploring the world of science. Despite there being separate teams, all students involved in CHS Science Olympiad are considered equally important members of the group as a whole. What's more, team placement is strictly merit and strategy based and may be updated throughout the season depending on competition performance and event choices. Our goal is to ensure that all members can pursue new avenues of STEM outside the classroom, make new friends and join a passionate and supportive community, and hopefully earn some medals in the process regardless of our individual successes.
